The actor, entrepreneur, and former wrestler purchased a $3.48 million house in Encino, California, for his mother, Ata, who has been a significant part of his life. With an estimated net worth of around $270 million, Johnson has previously bought her two homes in Florida, but he emphasized that this one holds a special place in his heart.
In an Instagram post, he shared, “As a child, it broke my heart to see my mom cry. Now, I welcome her tears of joy.” He revealed that he surprised her with a new house, which his design team and he transformed over eight weeks, making everything brand new for her first visit.

According to records obtained by The Post, Johnson acquired the Cape Cod-style residence, featuring six bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, in September, although his mother only recently moved in. This gated property spans over 4,400 square feet and boasts luxurious amenities, including a spacious great room with French doors, a chef’s kitchen adorned with navy cabinets, a handmade tile backsplash, and Carrera marble countertops, alongside a living room showcasing a fireplace and white vaulted ceilings. The kitchen also features a cozy breakfast nook.

The main suite includes a spa-like bathroom with dual sinks and a freestanding tub, along with direct access to the outdoor area.
The beautifully landscaped backyard is enclosed by hedges and offers a large lawn with multiple lounge areas, a built-in barbecue, citrus trees, a game area, and a pool and spa, making it a “bona fide Los Angeles sanctuary.” Johnson shared three videos capturing Ata’s reaction as she explored her new home for the first time.
One video features her approaching the house, set to the beloved tune of “Over the Rainbow” by the late Hawaiian singer Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. A sign reading “Le Samoana” hangs above the entrance, paying homage to her Samoan heritage.

In two additional videos, Johnson provided a tour of the interior, highlighting meaningful decor elements. He dubbed one room the “Smackdown Room,” filled with memorabilia from his wrestling and DJ days. In another area, he showcased her collection of vintage ukuleles, and shared that he had found photographs of their ancestors that she hadn’t seen since her childhood in Samoa.
