Drake threw some subtle shade towards Rick Ross over the weekend, after the rapper was attacked in Canada for playing Kendrick Lamar's diss track Not Like Us.

The 48-year-old rapper was performing at Vancouver’s Ignite Music Festival when he chose to end his set with “Not Like Us,” a track aimed at Drake. This led to a heated argument and a brief brawl where he was struck in the head by a man.

Ross appeared unaffected by the ɑttɑck, telling TMZ that no one from his team was seriously injured. His representative also expressed Ross’s positive sentiment about Vancouver and his desire to return.

Ross didn't acknowledge the brawl on social media, though he did share a snap of him in front of his private jet on Monday

Ross did not address the brawl on social media but shared a photo in front of his private jet, captioning it, “Vancouver, it was fun. Till next time,” on his Instagram story.

Apart from liking the social media post, some speculate that Drake indirectly referenced Ross in a new Instagram story post. On Canada Day, Drake posted a story wearing a Toronto Raptors t-shirt and wished his followers a Happy Canada Day, chuckling during the message. Some interpreted this as a subtle reaction to Ross’s altercation in Canada.

Drake and Kendrick Lamar, originally from Los Angeles, have had a competitive relationship spanning over a decade. Kendrick, who once opened for Drake, sparked controversy in 2013 with his verse on Big Sean’s “Control,” where he named Drake among other targets. Despite periodic tensions, both rappers have minimized reports of a feud over the years.

Their rivalry reignited in March 2024 when Drake released “First Person Shooter” with J. Cole, asserting himself, Cole, and Kendrick as the “big three” in rap. Kendrick responded with “Like That” featuring Metro Boomin and Future, dismissing the idea of a “big three” and asserting his own prominence.

Their feud intensified with diss tracks, including “Not Like Us,” where Kendrick accuses Drake. Kendrick further made headlines recently by performing “Not Like Us” multiple times at a Juneteenth concert, emphasizing the track’s significance.
