On Sunday, Jennifer Lopez seemed unbothered by increasing media spеculation about the status of her marriage to Ben Affleck.
The 54-year-old singer and actress, currently vacationing solo in Italy and separated from her husband of two years, showcased a carefree demeanor with a radiant smile.
Jennifer was seen boarding a boat en route to the renowned Lo Scoglio restaurant in Nerano for lunch with friends—once again without her 51-year-old actor spouse.
The “On The Floor” singer was impeccably dressed in a charming printed shirt dress, paired with white peep-toe heels and a cream fedora.
JLo, also known as Jennifer, completed her look with chic sunglasses, gold earrings, and an orange Hermes Birkin bag.
Over the past few days, Jennifer has been enjoying her time in Italy and was recently spotted having a blast on a boat in Positano, where witnesses noted she appeared to be in high spirits.
While soaking in the breathtaking scenery, the mother of two, who shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony, took selfies from various angles, even snapping a few of her famous derrière.
It’s unclear who received her flirty snapshots, but Ben has a history of boating with Jennifer and famously recreated a scene from her 2002 “Jenny From the Block” music video on a $130 million mega yacht during her 52nd birthday in Saint Tropez, soon after they rekindled their relationship.
This joyful display came after a source revealed to DailyMail.com that Jennifer is done trying to salvage her marriage to Ben.
An industry insider claimed the pop star is at her wit’s end and feels there’s nothing more she can do to save the relationship.
A music industry source told DailyMail.com, “Jenny has had enough. She really tried, but it’s not getting any better; it’s getting worse.”
The insider added that JLo left her husband mainly because he was perpetually “grumpy and nеgative,” likening him to Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street.
Jennifer is also reportedly “shocked” by the nеgativе press, which she feels is unjust.
The source said, “If people saw what she has gone through, they would be more understanding. Ben is a great guy, but he can be grumpy and a downer.
“The world saw that in photos from the Grammys last year; he wouldn’t smile. If they knew the real situation, they wouldn’t criticize her,” added the friend of Jennifer.
“He chain-smokes, curses, and often seems irritated. He’s a great director and actor, but not much fun to be around. He is, however, a wonderful father.”
The source continued, “Jennifer isn’t used to this kind of nеgative feedback, but she’ll get over it. She’ll persevere. Jennifer is very smart and strong and always bounces back.”
She has been relying on close friends, including stylist Shawn Barton, nicknamed Beezy, and vocal coach Stevie Mackey, for support.
Reports have suggested that Ben and Jennifer were planning to announce their divorce last Friday, which is typical for celebrity splits.
When asked about this, the source said, “I think they’re waiting until the kids are done with school to make the announcement. They’re putting the kids first.”
Regarding their current relationship, the insider said they are being “cordial” to each other.
So, what happened to the once jovial Ben who used to smile at fans and openly show affection for Jennifer? The source attributes it to the pressures of Ben’s career.
“He’s currently filming ‘The Accountant 2,’ working long hours, and juggling his career with marriage and kids is tough,” said the source. “So, sometimes he’s not in the best mood.”
Meanwhile, Jennifer has cleared her schedule this summer to give herself some time to reassess her life.
“She’s living separately from Ben, which everyone knows by now, so that’s a significant change for her and the kids,” said the friend. Ben has reportedly moved into a $100K-a-month rental near his ex-wife Garner months ago.
“Of course, Jenny is sad; she loves Ben, but they are just too different, with no compromise, no blending. They are on separate paths.”
The source added that Jennifer gave it her all: “She really tried hard to make it work, but it just didn’t.
“She invested a lot of time and energy, and I believe he did too. There’s no one to blame. It just wasn’t meant to be. It’s very difficult for two major stars to keep a marriage going; one has to give in, and in this case, neither did.”
