Billie Eilish found herself unable to contain her laughter as she and her brother Finneas O’Connell clinched an Oscar for Best Song with “What Was I Made For?” during the ceremony on Sunday, March 10.

Expressing her disbelief, Eilish remarked, “I had a nightmare about this last night.” 

Grateful for the recognition, she thanked the Academy, admitting, “I just didn’t think that this would happen. I was not expecting this. 

I feel so incredibly lucky and honored.” Eilish also took a moment to acknowledge filmmaker Greta Gerwig and express her appreciation for the impact of the movie and the song on its audience.

In a humorous turn, Eilish extended gratitude to her childhood friend Zoe and reminisced about playing with Barbies together. 

She also thanked her past dance and choir teachers, including one she jokingly noted “didn’t like me, but you were good at your job!”

This win marked the second Oscar for both Eilish and O’Connell, making them the youngest two-time winners in Academy Awards history. 

Their previous win was for “No Time to Diе,” the theme song for the 2022 James Bond film.
